chaos at belle square..!

so on my actual birth-day (20th) jamus and i headed over to the Lincoln square to eat dinner.
we don't eat out too often but we decided to try somewhere nice in the Bellevue square area ☺
turns out, microsoft opened a new 'microsoft store' in the mall and there was a grand opening deal going on... the Dave Matthews Band had a surprise performance--then apparently Miley Cyrus performed just before we got there--and the Kardashians made an appearance at the Nordstrom to promote some fragrance thingy....
umm... why?!?
i wasn't aware of any of this! i wish i knew because we had to wait 40 minutes to get seated :'(
(or maybe that's normal...?)
a lot of rich folks for sure... this mall is quite fancy...
hmm..speaking of, i still haven't checked out The Bravern..

rejected by 'the one'....

so i had a dream couple nights ago-- i'm really good at remembering my dreams.
the casting line-up usually involves close friends, family, etc and RARELY i get celebrities to make a guest appearance♥
well this time around it was randomly Keanu Reeves--(does he even act anymore?)
the dream goes:

i was attending college and so was he. he didn't look like the above photo. instead he had that crazy beard grown out and he was wearing a gray hat and...well he basically looked like a bum.
then for some reason i approached him and asked him out!!
(crazy! i've NEVER asked a guy out in my life!)
then....
BAM!
i got rejected (;_;)

then i started googling Keanu, wondering where he's been these past few years.
(i'm a google whore!)
then i remembered a few tragedies he's been through and i came upon this "sad keanu" photo..
taken by a paparazzi. keanu was just sitting at a park bench alone (kind of sort of) enjoying his sandwich... apparently this photo got huge on the web and people started photo shopping it in all kinds of situations.

dennis hopper passed away yesterday... :'(
i always thought he was a badass! and..apparently he WAS !
i only knew him in just a handful of movies--always playing the villain.
but upon reading about him, he was..quite the difficult, badass kinda guy...
here are some of his movies i've seen:

so he's probably best known for Easy Rider. i, myself, have never seen this movie. but i hear about it all the time. and my mother owns this movie (being a motorcycle movie i guess)
i may check it out...
interesting fact i learned, he was like..james dean's protege at the time! wowa!


texas chainsaw massacre 2--who knew?!
alex was a huge horror/thriller/slasher film fan. he showed me texas chainsaw massacre 2 one day and..wowa! is that dennis hopper?? yep, he plays a cop who finds the hideout of the leatherface family..hidden under an old run-down carnival.
the best scene? when he's running and killing with 2 chainsaws on him--with the cowboy hat on!

huge cast... hopper played christian slater's pop-pop.
one of the best scenes throughout the whole movie is when christopher walken is interrogating dennis hopper in his little trailer... this scene is full of dialogue and runs for a good amount of time...

now who hasn't seen SPEED??
i think this was the first movie i actually saw with hopper in it.
playing the bad guy, of course.
speed is a total guilty pleasure movie..i could still watch it now..
keanu was hot ! someday, if my bus gets hijacked and rigged like this...i hope for a keanu-like cop to help me drive it♥

hopper played the big-shot guy....who turns bad...i think..
i can't remember O_o

i'll probably have a true romance night...
of all the movies i've seen with him, that'd be my favorite..

corey haim....

anyone who grew up in the 80's were shocked to find out that
corey haim had passed this morning...
yes, we all know he battled drug addiction prety much his whole life...
he's been in and out of rehab his whole life...
drugs were pretty much all he did...his whole life.. and unfortunately it's come to an end :'(
he was only 38 years old
'lost boys' is one of my favorite movies of all time♥ definitely one of the best vampire movies for me♥ (sorry erika, but it kicks Twilight's butt) the 2 corey's (corey haim and corey feldman) were the faces, icons of the teen hearthrobs in the 80's♥
but after a couple great movies in the 80's, they disappeared... they got sucked into the whole child stars gone drug addicts :(
feldman managed his way out.. he got married, got sober..but his film career never returned.
corey haim, well..he just totally disappeared and went drug crazy...
they reprised television with the show "the 2 coreys" but apparently that didn't work out too well due to Haim's drug addiction..yea! it even ruined his comeback...
well i'm sad... i hope he's in a better place and i will watch "lost boys" tonight in memory of him..

british fashion designer alexander mcqueen passed away on february 11...
i didn't know his fashion very well until i discovered lady gaga...
like lady gaga, alexander is very unique and has a very 'out there' style...
well, actually it's the other way around..like alexander mcqueen, lady gaga is very unique♥
she mentioned in many interviews that mcqueen's fashion is something she inspires..adores...
and i can see that!
his fashion is more of an art than wearable on the streets♥
the most 印象的design from his are these shoes: see below!

yea! aren't they crazy?! i love them! i noticed them in lady gaga's music video and thought it was something she designed...but it was by alexander mcqueen♥
i believe they are called "python heels"
i'd like to try one on...see if i can even walk 2 ft..! O_o

GIRL, INTERRUPTED
she played a smaller role in this movie but still plays a great character nonetheless...
Daisy was such an intense character....
i would watch this movie but...with what happens to Daisy it's quite depressing and
wouldn't be appropriate :( i don't think i'll be able to watch this one for a while..

SPUN
this movie was more like an indie-type movie...
a movie about drugs from start to end, meth to be exact.

surprising lotsa great actors in the film and rather than the story / acting / plot, i enjoyed the
editing and cinematography in this film. i believe i read somewhere this movie has the most cuts ever in a film, something like 5000+ cuts... i mean, it's a meth movie..it only makes sense right?

with eminem...she plays his love interest...
i was iffy at first..."eminem? acting? serious role? AS IF!"
but he surprised me with his acting...and the story was quite good...
brittany's role caught critics attention in this one as well...

SIN CITY
everyone was looking forward to this movie...the previews looked super cool with
it's black and white graphics... and again, brittany was just one of numerous actors in this one..
she played a rather small part here too...

as you all know, i'm a big fan of mila kunis ♥
i think she's underrated and she doesn't get
as much attention... (but maybe she likes it that way:)
she's currently on the cover of "blackbook" and the photoshoot is awesome!
she's so photogenic and...well...surpasses megan fox and angelina jolie in my book..
altho all 3 ladies are gorgeous♥
she really rocks the black hair / smokey eyes...!
i hope to see more of her in the future!

'twas a movie weekend...♥

over the long 4 day turkey weekend, i spent most of my days chillaxing♥ (at casa de jamus) i had a full-on cramp attack all day friday and some of saturday...no joke, had to be the most painful cramp i've experienced... ugh!! so what's the best thing to do when you're semi-immobile and just wanna sit with a drink? MOVIES!!! so i finally watched "REALITY BITES". a movie i recall was very popular back inthe 90's..(when i was too young to watch it... if i watched it back then i either: wouldn't get it or be bored watching it) RESULT loved it♥ definitely a story i can relate to... a while back i came upon the term: "Quarter Life Crisis" as opposed to the more common "Mid Life Crisis". don't know what a quarter life crisis is? then watch Reality Bites or Wikipedia it :) i would explain it here but i'm on 4 hours of sleep and my brain isn't functioning its best... O! and a little fun fact... i didn't know ben stiller was the director for this movie! imipressive!!

awesome movie ! it had a good amount of humor and what can i say? mila kunis is hot!
i'm glad she's being a bit more active as an actress
she was super annoying in that 70's show but i enjoyed watching her... she's so pretty♥
but since the show ended we haven't see much of her... except voice acting for family guy.
i hope she has more movies coming out in the future

now THIS is a vampire movie ya'll! (as opposed to twilight...)
there are lots of other good vampire movies too, like 'interview with the vampire' 'blade' etc...
but this is a dark, gory vampire movie! takes place in alaska where at one point it stays dark for 30 days... that's when the vamps decide to attack!
some parts made me a bit queasy but c'mon, they're vamps!
twilight isn't all gory...it's more of a teen romance flick... so this satisfied my vamp craving♥

patrick swayze passed away on 9-14-2009....

i believe he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...

this post is for patrick swayze and i'd like to reminisce on some of his movies/my favorite movies

ok, what girl doesn't like "dirty dancing"?!? NO GIRL! every girl loves this movie...every girl wants to be Baby. Every girl wants that boy to repeat the phrase "nobody puts (Baby) or your name in the corner". And every good girl wants to fall in love with that bad/rebellious boy--but in this case, he can also dance ! BOO-YA! one of my favorite 80's classic...also holds one of the best movie soundtrack (and did i mention he sang/co-wrote "she's like the wind"?) This is one of those movies i could watch repeatedly...til i get really old☺

omg....one of my favorite "otona" movies of all time... "ghost"♥♥

i remember living in japan as a kid when this movie came out...and it was crazy popular ! Japan was all hyped about this movie...i remember it being so popular, Japanese women everywhere started cutting their hair like Demi Moore's hair...the boy/pixie cut. (Japanese ppl always seem to think that if they cut their hair just like a movie star that they will look just like them. ummm...that's is absolutely not true ! but...they can hope right? it's entertaining for me anyways...because it makes me realize how bad most people look, trying so hard.. i mean, for goodness sake...)

anyways, ghost is a movie i could still watch again and again, but not too often.. because i get very emotional. a definite tear jerker. and an ultimate love story♥♥

NEWS FLASH::Jamus just agreed to watching "ghost" with me...!!! he's never seen it. and that's a big deal!

ok, now for "point break"... i know soooo many people who find this movie suuuuper cheesy. and i have to agree, it is...but do you know what makes it super cheesy? not patrick swayze--not the story--not the script--it's keanu reeves !!! yea he's looking good in this movie with his surfer body and young good looks but my god.... the man cannot act ! but set that aside and you have an awesome bank robbing heist♥ and they wear these cool old presidents masks !! patrick is the alpha dog:) and did i mention lori petty is in it too?? she is super cute in the movie.

and of course...i cannot finish this post without mentioning patrick swayze in "donnie darko". what an awesome part !!! the first time i saw donnie darko, i didn't even know he was going to be in it. it came as a total surprise...don't wanna ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie so i'll stop here but...if you haven't seen it yet (and my god, if you haven't seen it...where have you been this whole time?!) go see it♥ it's become a cult classic since.

he's left many great movies behind...
