OH-EM-GEE people...!!!i've recently come upon this documentary while browsing thru james' netflix account...
i promptly put it on our xbox streaming queu...
enjoying a solo night at la casa de jamus, i decided to watch this documentary...
........
.....
..
.
i've decided once and for all, i am swearing off ALL meat....(unless locally grown and available at a local farmer's market) o, and seafood..i can't give up seafood... therefore i shall call myself a pesco-vegetarian OR pescetarian...
this documentary changed my views on "food". i've seen other documentaries in the past similar to this one but...this one really did it for me...
and the question really is:
"do you know what you're eating? where it came from? and..what's in it?!"
first and foremost, i'd like to suggest anyone reading this to go rent this documentary...before i start babbling my head off:)
so there are a few things that i don't agree with how are "foods" are being processed/distributed to us... most of us just go out to the grocery stores and buy..whatever. but really, if you think about it...where did they come from? vegetables and fruits don't have a "season" anymore...they are genetically engineered to be grown and available all year long! they've also been genetically pumped with "veggie-steroids" if you will, just so we have MORE of it...
they are also sprayed with chemicals to last longer shelf lives AND the traveling it takes to each store....
oi...i could go on...
and when it comes to meat...o lordy loo.... i could just go on...
i don't want to start ranting or sound like i'm trying to make a change but...the documentary moved me enough in a way that i don't think i can look at food the same way anymore....
i will spare you my meat rant but it's definitely worse than i thought...
i'm making changes for myself by starting my produce shopping at farmer's markets or organic shops where i can purchase locally grown food...
here's to a happier food life♥
