so i got my Singer...i got it set up on a table...now all i need is some fabric and i'm set!
i checked out the local Joann Fabrics today (it's really the only fabric store i know of...)
i picked out a few cute ones♥ looks like floral designs are my thing...? (o_O!)
there are still a few materials i'm missing but...this should be enough to get me started.
i'm only a beginner anyway... (-_-')
another co-worker of mine referred me to a fabric shop in Capitol Hill called "Stitches".
here's their link:
STITCHES -clickity click
she, personally didn't favor Joann's...but she's much more advanced than me.
i'll stick to Joann's for now but i'm curious about this shop... they even offer classes!
i'm very interested but...i don't know if i can get my shy butt out there (-_o)
another interesting link to check out would be:
MARK MITCHELL-clickity click
so he's one of the teachers (at the stitches) and he creates his own costumes..like burlesque costumes, dresses, etc. (and if you look closely, you'll see the Cheshire cat from the "alice in wonderland" burlesque modeling a few pieces)
clothing pieces are far too difficult for me right now but..how cool would that be?
i'm getting excited♥
