i finally got a copy of (the american ver.) "the girl with the dragon tattoo" through my netflix.

i had just finished watching the Swedish (original) film last week. (which i loved by the way)

but omg...i absolutely LOVED the american version.

i'm biased though...David Fincher is honestly my favorite director out there...

but what really did it for me was the casting.

i liked Rooney Mara's version of Lisbeth Salander over Noomi Rapace's.

i'm a very visual person--so i liked her 'Look' better.  

but seriously, check out this opening title sequence.

it's all kinds of awesomeness--slick black, oil, black, visually stunning, BLACK. oy!!

it's almost like a music video--the opening sequence isn't any part of the movie (like most movie's opening titles)

and not to mention Karen O's cover of "immigrant".

seriously...my new favorite movie opening... ♥

a movie is coming out this year about the "greatest sushi restaurant in the world".

i guess it's like a documentary of (seriously) the best sushi restaurant.

i, for one, can't wait for it. definitely watching it.

being a sushi chef in japan is a huge deal. you go through so much training, it takes years and years to become a master.

snow video...!

i forgot that i took a video of the snowfall we had last week.

here it is! the view from my 3rd floor apartment.

this was the peak day of the week when it started to snow a lot.

now it's all brown slush and nasty...i miss the clean white snow.

i hope it snows again this winter!
