i'm sure lots of fams were out bbq-ing and stuff but it was a bit too cold for me.

'twas a gloomy day today... BOO!

i forgot that i took a video of the snowfall we had last week.

here it is! the view from my 3rd floor apartment.

this was the peak day of the week when it started to snow a lot.

now it's all brown slush and nasty...i miss the clean white snow.

i hope it snows again this winter!

man! it's been like a freezer lately! temperatures have been suuuper low, my car iced up!
my door would actually freeze shut...oy!
it sucks because it takes forever to warm up... i hear it's supposed to snow again this week.

my epic Monday commute...

welcome to the worst commute of my life...!
an epic 7 hour commute from Downtown Seattle to Redmond...
i like it when i can do it in 40 minutes... i bitch about it when it takes me an hour...
well holy hell, it took me 7 hours today...!
and we can only blame the stupid snow...
well no! i love snow..snow is pretty and gentle and fragile and pretty~
so then who is to blame??
the people who don't know how to drive in it!!! and the city for saying they were gonna be "prepared" for this bad winter but turns out they weren't!!

so i left work at 430-- i skipped my first bus and 'walked' to downtown instead.. smart move!
one less bus to worry about!
so i'm walking and i ran into a fellow co-worker who drove and skidded everywhere..then i see other people just sliding everywhere... at this point i'm thinking "boy am i glad i skipped the bus! walking is super awesome!"
then i get to downtown...the HEART of downtown...
it's a friggin' mess... ... i spot my 266 so i catch it! YESSS!!
but then my bus ends up sitting there for a solid 2 hours...
i think i moved an inch every 15 minutes!
then turns out a bus had jack-knifed around the first corner! argh...
but i'm still stuck.. 4 hours later i'm finally out of the city...and now the freeway is backed up..
then it's running again! then... holy hell... i'm stuck on the 520 floating bridge for 4 more hours...
2 buses had jack-knifed ahead of us and blocked ALL LANES...plus it's an uphill and many peeps haven't switched to snow tires yet... meanwhile snow just keeps on falling and the road turns into ICE! i'm so bored out of my mind i stare out the window--car after car is covered in icicles!
...anyway..i'm home now and i'm tired..sleepy..hungry and NOT (most likely) going to work tomorrow.. and actually the metro bus recommends everyone to stay home tomorrow...

first snowfall...!

so we got our first signs of snow on 11/21/2010 just a day after my birthday..!
(darn! i almost had a white birthday!)
it stuck around for a bit but eventually melted away.. kinda
but wow, that's some early snow! we're still in November♥

it has been unbelievably cold lately--my face hurts just being outside!
and my fingers are ice cold as i'm blogging right now..(i should turn on the heater)
SO i've been eagerly waiting for some "snow" predictions on our local forecast...
well lookie!!! it looks like November 20 & 21st might be our first snow days of this winter!
omg omg!! it's been changing between rain and snow but it's back to JUST snow♥
i just might have a white birthday! i remember it happened a few years back so this is quite possible☆

time for rainboots..!

wow today was a record rainfall! it was non-stop pouring rain for most of the day!
i usually hate it...but this year i was smart and i invested in rainboots♥
now my jeans won't get soaked...nor will my feet get wet!
behold, my red & black rain boots by 'dirty laundry' :)

with these on i can purposely walk into puddles--i can even add a little stomp and create a splash!! now i need to invest in a good raincoat to keep my hair in good shape..
what? umbrellas you say? forget that!!
i gave up on umbrellas...last year i inverted 3 umbrellas out in public to my embarrassment!!

this weekend has been very nice, weather-wise♥
our friend "sun" decided to come out and play but boy was it chilly!
i mean so cold that my face hurts just walking to my car!
so cold that i can't walk normally..! i'm like a friggin robot!
which makes me think....if it wasn't "sun" but our other friend "rain" that showed up instead...
then could it have been a snowy weekend..?!
the ten day forecast says we should be expecting some snow next week... *screams*

wind+umbrellas = they just don't mix...

ok, so in the past i've posted (i think) 2 incidents where my umbrella inverted on me due to high winds...the only 2 times it ever happened to me occurred within a month of each other !
well...i'm learning why seattlelites don't carry umbrellas AT ALL..!
i never carried umbrellas in the past because...well, i never stepped out for long periods of time! i would just dash into a store or pull my hoodie and run to my car... stuff like that...
but now that i commute via public transportation and everything is blocks away, well.. i actually walk now ! so when the rainy season kicked in--i realized i'll need an umbrella. i'm not just hopping from shelter to shelter anymore.. i actually spend a good amount of time walking in the rain... so i got an umbrella... inverted on me twice already...
well.. it's a skill.. you have to work with the wind. and today, i witnessed 2 unskilled umbrella-ers.
yep.. their umbrellas inverted ! and here's the thing..it wasn't even raining THAT much...but it was hella windy... so, really? do you REALLY need that umbrella? is it actually doing you any good right now? i hope they learn their lesson... i sure did..
it ain't fun being seen with an umbrella inversion...

thunderstorms...! ! !

it's been crazy these past 2 days !
seattle has been getting thunderstorms like none other!
i've witnessed more than a few (blue) lightning bolts followed by piercing loud crackling thunder!
it's refreshing ♥
we don't get to experience much of thunderstorms but the skies of puget sound are quite angry these days... but i say release your anger ! we all need to!
the raining has been non stop and for a brief time we even had some hail. O! i just heard a distant thunder ! hmmm what to do the next few days? i guess movies-hot cocoa-movies-movies-knitting-and movies♥
time to pull out my dvd collection!

officially fall....!

yes, it is officially fall...summer is over ya'll! here's a picture i took walking home today after work...around 7pm. Look how dark it gets already! just a month ago, 7 pm was still considerably bright outside ! looks like i may want to start coming into work earlier so i can leave while it's still bright outside. yikes...
