sam's 30th bday ♥

we met up at buca di beppo in seattle for sam's bday dinner♥ here's mike, sam, and her son Jonathan.
also, i coincidentally ran into james' nintendo co-workers! i saw vivek, trevor, karen, scott and scott's wife and little boy♥ he was so darn cute !! and his wife is so darn pretty!

then we headed to the barca lounge in capitol hill. we thought we had reservations but there was some sort of mix up... we still found an area but we all got 2 free shots on the hizzouse

sushi maru...!

jamus and i went out for sushi dinner on friday♥
we decided to try out the new 'sushi maru' in downtown bellevue. it's a conveyer belt style sushi restaurant. the choices were...meh, alright. i liked that they didn't have too much rice on the sushi. but i still prefer sushi-land. sushi-land has more variety and their salmon is better.

new eyewear....@_@ ♥♥

i got my eyes check last week. i initially went in to get new frames to replace my current glasses, but it turned out my prescription had expired..!! yikes... so i had an eye exam. for the first time in many many years, my prescription didn't change ! i'm hoping my eyes won't get too much worse from now. my lens are already pretty thick and...well...i don't want to have coke bottle glasses when i become an old fart :( i went to pearle vision and right now they have an awesome buy one get one free deal♥ so i ordered 2 frames. both by 'vogue' and i'm really liking them! they should be ready next week. YAY!

patrick swayze passed away on 9-14-2009....

i believe he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...

this post is for patrick swayze and i'd like to reminisce on some of his movies/my favorite movies

ok, what girl doesn't like "dirty dancing"?!? NO GIRL! every girl loves this movie...every girl wants to be Baby. Every girl wants that boy to repeat the phrase "nobody puts (Baby) or your name in the corner". And every good girl wants to fall in love with that bad/rebellious boy--but in this case, he can also dance ! BOO-YA! one of my favorite 80's classic...also holds one of the best movie soundtrack (and did i mention he sang/co-wrote "she's like the wind"?) This is one of those movies i could watch repeatedly...til i get really old☺

omg....one of my favorite "otona" movies of all time... "ghost"♥♥

i remember living in japan as a kid when this movie came out...and it was crazy popular ! Japan was all hyped about this movie...i remember it being so popular, Japanese women everywhere started cutting their hair like Demi Moore's hair...the boy/pixie cut. (Japanese ppl always seem to think that if they cut their hair just like a movie star that they will look just like them. ummm...that's is absolutely not true ! but...they can hope right? it's entertaining for me anyways...because it makes me realize how bad most people look, trying so hard.. i mean, for goodness sake...)

anyways, ghost is a movie i could still watch again and again, but not too often.. because i get very emotional. a definite tear jerker. and an ultimate love story♥♥

NEWS FLASH::Jamus just agreed to watching "ghost" with me...!!! he's never seen it. and that's a big deal!

ok, now for "point break"... i know soooo many people who find this movie suuuuper cheesy. and i have to agree, it is...but do you know what makes it super cheesy? not patrick swayze--not the story--not the script--it's keanu reeves !!! yea he's looking good in this movie with his surfer body and young good looks but my god.... the man cannot act ! but set that aside and you have an awesome bank robbing heist♥ and they wear these cool old presidents masks !! patrick is the alpha dog:) and did i mention lori petty is in it too?? she is super cute in the movie.

and of course...i cannot finish this post without mentioning patrick swayze in "donnie darko". what an awesome part !!! the first time i saw donnie darko, i didn't even know he was going to be in it. it came as a total surprise...don't wanna ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie so i'll stop here but...if you haven't seen it yet (and my god, if you haven't seen it...where have you been this whole time?!) go see it♥ it's become a cult classic since.

he's left many great movies behind...

apple just announced they are going to start selling larger gigabyte-ed itouch players♥

(for the 1st gen itouch players, they only had an 8gb..and i think a 16gb? anyhow, i need at least a 30~35gb...)

the new itouch players will come in 32gb and 64gb

*my pros and cons*

pros--i want a new music player... i currently have a 30gb classic ipod... problem is, it's full. And i need more space for newer music i have.. and i don't want to remove any old music to replace with new. it also freezes up on me every once in a while...rather annoying. also, the new itouch is a touch screen! how cool! this day in age, a touch screen is a must. it's what should be everywhere actually ! i thought we'd have flying cars by now but we don't...the least we can do is have touch screens everywhere, even in our ipods♥

cons--my current ipod classic is still usable... it's not totally broken, so i should use it until it drops dead on me right? also, for the new itouch, i'd have to upgrade my itunes to 9.0 ver... i currently have 8.0 and my computer probably couldn't handle another upgrade... so maybe i should wait on my itouch until i get a new computer.... also, if i wait just a couple years, the price on the itouch will come down... is it worth the wait? hmmm...hmmmm...

*my pros and cons*

pros--ok, yes it's expensive but well worth it !! it's got EVERYTHING!!! this day in age, you want a phone that has internet already...my current phone, nada.. it's got internet, GPS system (which helps me a lot because i can get lost...) txt msg, instant msg, TOUCH SCREEN...and did i say.. TOUCH SCREEN !!! 3or4 megapixel built in camera, video, and basically everything else you can imagine to get thru day by day....

cons--extremely expensive... and i've only had my current phone for a year, which means i won't qualify for any sort of discounts. a phone is just a phone, i only use it for texting really.... do i need to get super fancy? do i really need internet? touch screen? gps?!? (yessssss yes you do ivy) and again, should i wait a couple more years til it's drops in price? hmmm...hmmmm?

new pair of geek chic eyewear

glasses ! i'm in dire need of a new pair of glasses..ones that won't slip down my nose. i hate pushing my glasses up every 2 seconds... i'm not a nerd!

a new pair (depending on where i got, but most places) would cost me probably a couple hundred bucks...

*my pros and cons*

pros--new glasses would benefit me because they would replace my current crappy ones. my current glasses keep falling off my nose... if i can get it replace, i can wear glasses more frequently and therefore, it would keep my eyes healthier. wearing contacts everyday probably isn't a good thing...my eye needs to breathe too !!

cons--i can't really think of any cons..except wearing glasses make me dizzy, usually... maybe i got used to contacts. but it might be making me dizzy because i have ill-fitting glasses, therefore i should get a replacement...

what to do? hmmm...hmmmm?

so please ! help~ ! what would you get?!♥

egyptian theater presents: purple rain♥

yay! how exciting! a while back erika found out that they would be playing 'purple rain' at the egyptian theater in september♥ (note: for those not familiar with the egyptian theater on broadway, seattle--they play old movies, classics, cult classics, etc theater-style... i think it's every friday/saturday and they start the movies at midnight. I've previously seen Pulp Fiction. Purple rain was my second time♫)

it's really cool too because the egyptian theater is an old style theater. or should i say theatre, hehe. it's got those fancy double doors and the old school fancy curtains ♥

gotta say, loved the crowd that night! first off, there were more people than i thought ! both women AND men! yea, i know ! the second the opening started with "let's get crazy", the audience just started wooting and clapping and there was a dude at the very front who got up and danced for every song ! hahahaha as you know, purple rain features full songs, so after every song people applauded. and of course, people laughed at all the cheesy scenes. that was fun :) i laughed out loud too... i mean, you can't help but laugh at most of the scenes !

my favorite scene is when the kid sings 'the beautiful ones' to apollonia in the audience. he gets so emotional and...i got the goosebumps, for reals !

and finally...the ultimate cheesy scene...the very last part where the kid turns his head...
