we were also planning to go to Diamond Knot for dinner but...it was pretty late and we know that place gets crowded on weekends... they're kinda small too so very limited space..

mario kart tournament @ work...!

so on thursday, the event committee held a WII mario kart tournament♥

i promptly signed up for it... i mean of course !!

it worked as brackets and there were 2 rounds then a final round...

i got 2nd place..then 1st place...

then...the final round...

i got 3rd!!

i know..why is ivy excited to be 3rd place?

well..the top 3 winners win a prize and i earned myself a $10 starbucks gift card!

what an awesome day ! i get free coffee for the next few days♥

today is my 27th birthday ya'll..!
but i'm kinda bummed... not really in the celebrating mode...
why ? because it's OFFICIAL... i've entered my LATE 20's...
well, i had a blast last night with my co workers :) we went out to hula hula for drinks and by the end of the night i was singing some karaoke ♥
my co workers = great fun!

wind+umbrellas = they just don't mix...

ok, so in the past i've posted (i think) 2 incidents where my umbrella inverted on me due to high winds...the only 2 times it ever happened to me occurred within a month of each other !
well...i'm learning why seattlelites don't carry umbrellas AT ALL..!
i never carried umbrellas in the past because...well, i never stepped out for long periods of time! i would just dash into a store or pull my hoodie and run to my car... stuff like that...
but now that i commute via public transportation and everything is blocks away, well.. i actually walk now ! so when the rainy season kicked in--i realized i'll need an umbrella. i'm not just hopping from shelter to shelter anymore.. i actually spend a good amount of time walking in the rain... so i got an umbrella... inverted on me twice already...
well.. it's a skill.. you have to work with the wind. and today, i witnessed 2 unskilled umbrella-ers.
yep.. their umbrellas inverted ! and here's the thing..it wasn't even raining THAT much...but it was hella windy... so, really? do you REALLY need that umbrella? is it actually doing you any good right now? i hope they learn their lesson... i sure did..
it ain't fun being seen with an umbrella inversion...

これはかなり意味深い感じがする！o_O

タイトルが発表される前からこのプロモ写真があちらこちらで貼られてる。よく見ればやっぱその後ろは安室ちゃん。。。そして去年発売したベストアルバムのポスターを破けようとしている。。。そしてタイトルが
過去＜未来。。。やはり「過去はもう終え、いい事や嫌な事もあったけどこれからはもっと前へ、未来の事を考えてあらたに進化しよう！」という意味なのかな？上手く日本語で説明できないけど。。。ベストアルバムは大体チャプターみたいな感じで（自分は）思ってるから。。。これからまた新たに音楽的に進化すると私は想う★　やっぱり一番気になるのはポスターの後ろの安室ちゃん！顔が隠れてるからやっぱ何かイメチェンでもしたのかな？もしや、あの長い髪をバッサリ切っちゃったのかな？！

OH EM GEE !!! Utada has officially announced her US & UK 2010 tour!

and i just happened to catch the news... i've been disappointed since her album promo tour got cancelled earlier this year... but she's returning this time to tour the states!

tickets went on sale 11/14/2009 and i purchased one for me and one for erika!

erika is pretty picky with her jpop music... amuro and utada are about the only ones she appreciates♥

anyways...tickets were about $30 each but totalled to $80 for both..O_o (stupid ticketmaster fees...)

but still a whole lot less than a concert ticket would cost in japan...

so i have no complaints:)

the concert date is for 1/21/2010

so i still have a couple months....

(i just hope nothing happens between now and then... please no cancellations!!)

i've been reading the utada forums and people are trying to guess what kind

of set list it will be...

i personally enjoy her japanese songs more than her english songs...so i'm hoping she might squeeze in a couple jpop tunes in there...but she IS promoting her new english album "this is the one" so... chances are slim ;_; i'm also hoping she'll pick a few tunes from her FIRST english album "exodus"... i liked this one.. some tracks were produced by timbaland... and there were some techno-ish influences too..

i can't say, but i think the newer album is more chill and...consists mainly of ballads...

i could be wrong tho! i don't own it yet.. (must get to the store...)

but regardless... i'm very much looking forward to the concert!

o m g... this is my first jpop concert?! yikes..!!

my next mission is an amuro concert... must see her before i die or worse...

this is a great deal! we were debating whether we'd go our separate ways or find a cheaper 2b/1b apt... or whether we'd stay on the east side or move to seattle... UGH!! i've been secretly stressed out... i hate moving but i was also a tad bit unhappy with certain things... the hassle of hunting for an apartment and dealing with deposits, etc. ARGH!!
but we got an amazing offer and we took it...
turns out it's now cheaper than the cheapest apartment we've found online!
now i can save a bit more.....(for what? i dunno... but save save SAVE!)
erika seems happy about it too. yea the commute might suck at times but it all comes down to how much money comes out of our pockets... i think she'll be living a bit more comfortably the next year♥
now..i just need my darn mail keys!!

friday the 13th...!

this past friday the 13th was also my friend schreiner's birthday! 28 now:)
happy birthday!
we celebrated at the 3 lions pub in redmond
schreiner, i always thought--has a high tolerance for alcohol.. when we got there he was nursing on a beer but by the time i left (an hour later) he was feeling it! i bought him a touchdown..erika got him a kamikaze... and who knows what other drinks he got !
and OMG! i couldn't stop eating their curry fries!!! SOOO good !

multiple departments at my work were celebrating... i think there was a farewell party and some sort of meeting for another... the best part?! LEFTOVERS!!!
at the pizza party i scored some delicious greens♥

so erika and i + kelly and andy were supposed to go see the pacific northwest ballet friday night...
but before the show we met up with my co-workers for some pre-drinking...
turns out, that was so much more fun! we ended up skipping the ballet to drink♥
o well...i saw the ballet last year and it was cool but.. once you have andrew and jordann around... you can't leave their company!
erika came along too and she love my co-workers!
they're so much fun♥
